Aleksej is only 3 years old and has been diagnosed with hypoxic encephalopathy, a rare condition caused by a lack of oxygen in the brain, creating a risk of serious complications and even death.
The only solution for this condition is a stem cell transplant, which unfortunately is not possible in our healthcare institutions.
Therefore, his treatment must continue at Liv Hospital Ulus in Istanbul, but the transplant costs €19,000—an amount that Aleksej’s family currently does not have.
